Why does a passenger fall forward when a moving bus suddenly stops?

When a moving bus suddenly stops, the lower part of the passenger’s body stops with the bus because it is in contact with the bus floor. But the upper part of the body continues to move forward due to inertia of motion. That is why the passenger falls forward.

Why is it difficult to walk on a frictionless surface?

Walking is possible because friction provides grip between our feet and the ground. When we push the ground backward, friction pushes us forward. On a frictionless surface, there is no grip, so we cannot push properly and walking becomes difficult.

Why does a gun recoil after firing a bullet?
